Lopez on Jackson

During one of my journalism classes, my professor suggested we read LA Times columnist Steve Lopez's column on the MJ Memorial. We were discussing great columnists and my professor (who was an editor at the LAT) said Lopez's columns are well-written and a good read. The MJ column was a recent and entertaining observation.

I agree with what Lopez wrote on the memorial spectacle and wanted to share it here. I know I said last week's post would be the final word on Jackson, but good writing is always worth sharing.

Interesting Note: Lopez is the columnist whose experience finding a homeless musician on the street inspired him to write a book. That book became The Soloist film, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx.
